Alan Brigham, Economic Development Representative, US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. Alan is the US EDA Rep for Maine and New Hampshire and is responsible for outreaching the EDA programs and initiatives to both the public and private sectors in the two state region. Prior to joining EDA, Alan held senior economic development positions with the State of Maine and Central Maine Power Company. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama, has a MBA from USM and is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. Alan is a US Navy vet and is certified in federal grants management.
Jonathan Block is a Partner with Pierce Atwood. He represents and advises clients with Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts tax issues. He advises clients on transactional and multistate tax matters and does significant work with government and legislative relations in the tax area. Jon has been integrally involved with the design, drafting and enactment of many of Maine's tax exemptions and economic development programs. He's helped numerous companies take advantage of Maine's economic development incentives such as Pine Tree Zones, New Market Tax Credits, Business Equipment Tax exemptions among many others. Jon received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, his law degree from UMaine and his LLM in Taxation from Boston University.
Kris Eimicke joined Pierce Atwood in 2009 as an Associate in the firm's federal tax and state and local tax practice. Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Kris clerked for Judge Harry Haines of the US Tax Court. Kris has represented clients on a variety of business transactions including new market tax credits and Maine's new market capital investment program. Kris is a frequent speaker on federal and state tax issues including economic development incentives, renewable energy credits among other federal and state tax advantaged programs. Kris received his BA from Trinity College, his Law degree from UMaine and his LLM from New York University School of Law.
