The Program:

Great information and lively discussions

Trying to figure out what steps you can take now to improve energy efficiency and help your bottom line? Want to learn more about the trends and technologies that are shaping how we will source and consume energy in the future? Not convinced that the “green economy” is here to stay?

This conference is for you!

Please join MEREDA for a timely and informative look at Maine’s energy future featuring presentations from two panels of experts followed by what are sure to be lively Q & A sessions with conference attendees – all moderated by former Maine Governor and energy entrepreneur Angus King.

In addition, more than a dozen exhibitors will also be on hand to display their green energy products and services and answer your questions.

12:00 – 1:00 PM Registration / Networking / Exhibitors
1:00 – 2:00 PM Maine’s place in the Green Economy

What is Maine’s place in a green economy? How do building owners identify and evaluate energy savings opportunities? How do developers embrace sustainable design and respond to clients who demand it? What does the stimulus package mean for energy in Maine?

Our first panel of energy experts tackles these questions and many others as they look at Maine’s green energy future.

Eric Belliveau, Optimal Energy, Inc.
Doug Baston, North Atlantic Energy Advisors
Dan Thayer, Thayer Corp.
Peter Benard, Ledgewood Construction
2:00 – 2:45 PM Q & A Session with Audience
2:45 – 3:15 PM One on one with green businesses

Between panel discussions, we are having a networking session where conference participants can meet with our exhibitors who will be displaying a variety of different green products and services. This is a great opportunity to meet with and learn from experts on the cutting edge of the green economy in Maine.
3:15 – 4:15 PM Sourcing and Delivering Energy in a Greener Maine

What are the projections for energy supply and demand – and energy costs – in the next 15 -20 years? Can anything really displace petroleum-based energy in Maine? What are realistic short-term solutions? Should we look to market driven solutions or government mandates?

Our second panel of experts takes a hard look at where our energy will come from and how it will be delivered to Maine homes, businesses and institutions.

George Gantz, Unitil
Bede Wellford, Vital Technologies, Inc.
Mike Shea, Webber Oil Company
Phil Coupe, ReVision Energy
