Maine Real Estate & Development Association Announces Additions to its Board of Directors

The Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Greg A. Mitchell of Eaton Peabody Consulting Group and John Edwards of Bangor Savings Bank have been elected as new Directors.

Greg Mitchell has over twenty years of experience working with municipalities and businesses to support community economic growth. His experience includes structuring public-private partnerships to leverage local, regional, State of Maine, and federal business assistance programs, designing public infrastructure projects to support industrial park and commercial development, developing business retention, and expansion and attraction programs.

Greg has been successful on redevelopment of Lewiston’s Southern Gateway Project, the Bates Mill redevelopment for financial institutions, call centers, and restaurants and helped the State of Maine District Court relocate and expand to a historic building on the National Registry.

John Edwards joined Bangor Savings Bank as Senior Vice President/Senior Lender located at 99 Franklin Street, Bangor. John has 20+ years’ experience in a variety of commercial banking roles including small business, commercial real estate, middle market lending and problem loan workout. He began his banking career with Casco Bank and Trust Company in Portland, Maine and has since held various positions at several financial institutions in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Holy Cross College, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He has been an active member of the professional community, having served in many capacities, some of which include Co-chair of the Diversity Leadership Team for FleetBoston Business Financial Services Group, Board Member of the Boston Chapter of Risk Management Association, Board Member of the Small Business Association of New England, and After School Mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
