Over the past two years the communities that make up Greater Portland, including Portland, South Portland, Scarborough, Westbrook, Cape Elizabeth and Falmouth have worked – in conjunction with the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce – to establish a framework for an organization to facilitate business attraction. In recent weeks each of these communities has agreed to support the formation of the Greater Portland Economic Development Corporation – and recruiting for board members of the GPECD has begun.

The Greater Portland Economic Development Corporation will be a true public-private partnership and include participation from the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Maine Education Alliance.

Join us on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 7:30 – 9:00 AM at the Portland Regency Hotel, 20 Milk Street, Portland, ME as our presenters discuss the goals of the new organization, and the strategies for business attraction that are currently being developed.
