Join us on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 7:30 – 9:00 AM at the Portland Regency Hotel, 20 Milk Street, Portland, ME as Maine Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais discusses efforts to centralize permitting and licensing, along with efforts to make it easier for businesses to communicate and work with state government.
 
Commissioner Gervais will discuss upcoming structural changes within state agencies in an effort to create a more business friendly state government.  The Commissioner will address how the changes in LD 1 enacted last year and a Governor’s executive order issued this fall to establish the new role of Account Executive within DECD, and business liaisons within each state agency, and how Account Executives will interact with business liaisons to help businesses access and navigate state agency programs. 

Commissioner Gervais will also discuss the centralized permitting and licensing system envisioned in LD 1, and how the Account Executive role and centralized permitting structures will interact.
