Portland, Maine – Drew Sigfridson SIOR, Principal/Designated Broker of CBRE | The Boulos Company of Portland is the new president of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA), a statewide organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and related service providers. Founded in 1985, MEREDA promotes responsible development and ownership of real estate in Maine through legislative advocacy, educational programs and professional networking opportunities.
Drew succeeds Thomas N. Lea, Senior Vice President and Maine Region Manager of Commercial Real Estate Finance at People’s United Bank, who has led MEREDA for the past two years.
Beginning his real estate career with CBRE | The Boulos Company in 1998, Drew soon adopted a leadership role within the company as a Designated Broker and was recently promoted to Principal. Active in many organizations, Drew has been President of the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors, is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for AVESTA Housing, and is a board member of the New England Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
Drew has also received accolades from his peers. He was selected as one of Realtor Magazine’s 30 Under 30 in 2005, voted Maine Commercial Realtor of the Year in 2006 and last year was named as one of the 40 Under 40 recipients from Maine Today.
As a member of the board of MEREDA since 2003, Drew is committed to an improved environment for responsible real estate development in the State of Maine. He says, “I look forward to engaging more real estate developers in MEREDA’s efforts. Their involvement is crucial to fully understand the costs and constraints associated with real estate development in Maine. As an organization, MEREDA will continue to push legislative initiatives to ensure the development process is fair and predictable. We will also continue to host events and create a forum for hot topics which are critical to our member’s interests.”
A graduate of Bowdoin College, Drew now resides in the Back Cove area of Portland, ME with his wife, April, and their three children.
