Environmental Challenges Associated with Historic Redevelopment Projects

Join the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) for breakfast on December 6th from 7:30 – 9:00 AM at the Portland Regency Hotel, 20 Milk Street, Portland to learn about the environmental challenges associated with historic redevelopment projects.

Maine’s State Historic Preservation Tax Credit has focused many development projects on the historic buildings in Maine, many of which were otherwise neglected, vacant and underutilized. However, these older buildings contain environmental challenges that need to be addressed as part of the redevelopment including contaminated soil, asbestos, lead paint and PCBs in building materials.
