Welcome to the Maine Maine Real Estate Insider

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Maine Maine Real Estate Insider, born from a desire within the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) to help you keep your finger on the pulse of this important sector in Maine’s economy.

The launch of this publication comes on the heels of MEREDA’s largest ever annual Forecast Conference, at which over 700 insiders and experts met to review the health of Maine’s economy as it relates to real estate. Recently, our semi-annual report on the state of Maine’s real estate industry, the MEREDA Index ranked 77 – which, after seasonal adjustments, equates to a 1% increase from last June’s report. The improvement shows steady growth in new construction employment and residential real estate sales.

In fact, initial projections show that Portland, Bangor, Augusta, L/A, and Brunswick markets – as well as multi-family and industrial space – should grow substantially in the coming year. You can read more about the forecasts for this year and see all of the event coverage on our website.
