Maine Real Estate & Development Association to Host 3rd Annual “Strikes for Scholars” Bowl-A-Thon Fundraising Event

The Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) is proud to host its 3rd Annual “Strikes for Scholars” Bowl-a-Thon Fundraising Event at Bayside Bowl in Portland on Thursday, April 30th from 5-7 pm. Strikes for Scholars will support scholarships for Maine students enrolling in the building trades, architecture, engineering, construction, or business programs at Maine’s community colleges. Partnering again this year with the Maine Community College System, MEREDA’s goal is to raise enough to fund at least one $1,000 scholarship at each of the state’s seven community colleges and to support Maine students as they prepare for careers aligned with MEREDA’s mission of responsible development and ownership of real estate in Maine.

Teams are sold out with over 20 teams of 6 bowlers each registered to play. Over 100 of Maine’s leading developers and real estate professionals expected to attend, including teams from CBRE | The Boulos Company, Bangor Savings Bank, Verrill Dana and Preti Flaherty, among others. Spectators are welcome and may include a few of last year’s scholarship recipients.

The event will include a silent auction of assorted sports, entertainment, and dining items. The event will also feature a photo booth with special guests, Pat Patriot, the official mascot of the World Champion New England Patriots, Slugger of the Portland Sea Dogs and Crusher of the Maine Red Claws along with the Red Claw Cheerleaders. Bowlers and attendees can also enter a raffle for the chance to win a GoPro or an iPad Mini, support a worthy cause, and have some fun at the same time!

Sponsors include AAA Energy Service Co., Commercial Properties, Consigli Construction and Otis | Atwell.
