About the Event:
Dr. Habib Dagher, P.E. is the founding Executive Director of the Advanced Structures & Composites Center, a National Science Foundation funded research center housed in an 100,000 ft2 laboratory with more than 220 full and part-time personnel. The UMaine Composites Center is a world leader in the development of low-cost, high-performance structural composites for construction. The Center has served more than 500 clients worldwide, and has received top national awards for its research.
A world-leading advocate for developing advanced structural systems which simultaneously optimize structures, materials, and construction, we are excited to hear about the work he and his team are working on at the University of Maine at Orono.
Joining Dr. Dagher will be Caleb Johnson, a Licensed Architect at Caleb Johnson Studio. He has a studio in Portland, a custom millwork shop in Brunswick and a construction company. The two will be discussing Dr. Dagher’s building science and energy research, and the implicit benefits and impacts of his work.
Vice President of MEREDA, Shannon Richards of Hay Runner, will be moderating the program.
