Falmouth resident, Jennifer Small, a Partner at Malone Commercial Brokers is the new president of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA), a statewide organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and related service providers. Founded in 1985, MEREDA promotes responsible development and ownership of real estate in Maine through legislative advocacy, educational programs and professional networking opportunities.
Jennifer began her career at Malone in 2000 as an intern and has since built a 25+ year track record as a top-performing broker, working on some of Maine's most complex commercial real estate transactions across the state. She holds the CCIM designation — earned by only 6% of commercial real estate professionals nationwide. Jenn also serves as a Director on the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors Board and is affiliated with the National Association of Realtors. She is also a Director in the New England CCIM chapter. Jennifer resides in Falmouth with her husband and two children.
An active member of MEREDA, Jennifer recently served as a MEREDA Vice President, co-chaired MEREDA’s Conference Committee, and continues to serve on its Executive Committee. Jennifer joined the MEREDA board in 2014 and that same year, was selected to receive one of two MEREDA Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Jennifer succeeds Shannon Richards of Hay Runner, who led MEREDA for the past two years. "Shannon's impact on our volunteer organization has been incredible, and I have no doubt that will continue," said Jennifer. "I look forward to continuing that work alongside our dedicated board members, advocating for smart growth and development that benefits communities throughout Maine."
MEREDA also announced its 2026 / 2027 slate of officers which include President Jennifer Small of Malone Commercial Brokers, Vice Presidents Paul Peck of Drummond & Drummond and Ben Brennan of KONE Elevators & Escalators, Treasurer Justin Laverriere of Maine Community Bank, and Secretary Shelly R. Clark, who also serves full time as MEREDA's Executive Director.
