MEREDA’S Annual Real Estate Forecast Conference Set For January 27

PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) Annual Forecast Conference, which each year attracts more than 500 attendees from around the state, will be held this year on Thursday, January 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn By the Bay, 88 Spring Street, Portland, ME.

“The Forecast Conference has grown to become the most important gathering of the year for all the key players in Maine’s commercial real industry,” said Tom Lea, MEREDA President, and Senior Vice President and Group Manager of Commercial Real Estate at Peoples United Bank. “The conference provides a unique opportunity to take stock of the economy and gain insights into where our industry is headed in the months ahead. It also is a great networking opportunity for our members and guests.”

Each January MEREDA assembles some of Maine’s top real estate professionals to provide a look at commercial real estate by region and key market sectors, including office, retail, industrial, residential, and multi-family properties. In addition, a leading economist offers an overview of the state’s economy at the conference. This year, Charles Lawton of Planning Decisions will give the economic overview and outlook.

Lea said that the Forecast Conference has become a “must-attend” event for developers, brokers, architects, engineers, bankers, builders, attorneys, accountants and others who work in or provide services to Maine’s commercial real estate industry. The conference also has been approved for Broker and Legal Continuing Education Credits.

The Seventh Annual Member Showcase will be held in conjunction with the Forecast Conference again this year. The Showcase, featuring 60 exhibitors, gives members an opportunity to market their products and services and network with conference attendees.
