CONFERENCE AGENDA

About the Event:

The “Penciling the Future” Spring Conference is about building a better tomorrow for Maine. Designed to delve into the critical issues related to envisioning vibrant future communities, the conference will address the complexities of real estate development, including the essential collaboration with municipalities and urban planners. Through insightful presentations and discussions, attendees will gain valuable insights into aligning development goals with evolving societal needs, so projects are not only feasible but also contribute positively to future landscapes.

Jonathan Tate, an award winning licensed architect, with a thriving studio in New Orleans, will share his national perspective. His international practice is centered around housing development and urban planning, in which he is often called upon to develop large scale, strategic projects.
Our economic outlook will be presented by Ken Entenmann, the Chief Investment Officer & Chief Economist of NBT Bank. Ken is an expert at forecasting and his stage presence is undeniable.

Our Spring Conference will further the experience by breaking into deep dive panel discussions where we explore the importance of smart growth practices, the mechanisms for developing and ways to bring projects to fruition. Panelists include Kevin Kraft & Nell Donaldson from the City of Portland, joining us to discuss the current “Re-Code”; Nate Marcet, a Certified Public Accountant from Albin Randall & Bennett, sharing his expertise in Historic Tax Credits; Redfern Properties’ developer Jonathan Culley; Tyler Norod, Development Director at Westbrook Development Corporation; John Egan, Senior Program Officer for Strategic Initiatives at the Genesis Fund; and Jason Howe, a Partner at Preti Flaherty, sharing his expertise in Development, Mergers and Acquisitions, and others!
