Biographical Info
The Initiative for Digital Engineering and Life Sciences (IDEALS) is a non-profit organization founded by David and Barbara Roux which is now developing a permanent home for the Roux Institute at Northeastern University in Portland. The Roux Institute combines graduate education, research, and support for entrepreneurs in partnership with business and community partners in the high-tech fields of artificial intelligence, big data, and genomics, among others. IDEALS is permitting and transforming the former B&M site as the permanent campus for the Roux Institute and its innovation hub featuring education, research, incubator, and manufacturing space along with graduate housing and other facilities that support the Institute’s mission. A key feature of the campus will be public access to this iconic waterfront property.
