Central Maine Power (CMP) started with 100 customers in 1899. Today we serve more than 600,000 customers and deliver over 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity yearly throughout central and southern Maine. CMP's 11,000-square-mile service area is larger than the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island combined. It contains about 78 percent of Maine's population and major commercial and manufacturing centers.By providing outstanding customer service, promoting competition and focusing on growth, CMP will continue to be a valuable asset to communities throughout our service area.
