Over 500 of the state’s leading real estate experts are expected to attend the day’s events, which is being held at Portland’s Holiday Inn By the Bay. Maine’s State Historic Preservation Tax Credit has focused many development projects on the historic buildings in Maine, many of which were otherwise neglected, vacant and underutilized. However, these older buildings contain environmental challenges that need to be addressed as part of the redevelopment including contaminated soil, asbestos, lead paint and PCBs in building materials.
